halomap is location-pinned public chat. This policy explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

Account: a Firebase user id, optional Apple (or Google) sign-in, display name, and optional profile photo.
Content you post: chat titles, messages, photos, videos, and voice notes pinned to map locations you choose.
Device: approximate location only when you tap to find chats nearby (a one-time fix). We never stream or publish your live GPS.
An optional push token if you allow notifications.
Reports and blocks you submit (kept private to your account, except reports which we may review).
Android Play invite requests: the email you submit (the Gmail on your Play Store account) so we can add you as a tester. We use it only to send that invite.

To run halomap — show chats on the map, deliver replies, and keep your profile.
To keep people safe — blocks hide authors for you; reports help us review abuse.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not display other users’ live locations on the map. Pins are public chats people choose to post, not people.

Public chats and profiles (name, photo) are visible to other halomap users.
A chat appears on the map only after you tap “Drop it”. The composer always offers “Not now” so you can decline. There is no automatic check-in.
We use Firebase (Google) and media storage to host the service. They process data on our behalf.

You can delete your account in Settings. That removes your profile, blocks, device tokens, and Auth identity. Past public messages may remain on the map with the name you used when you posted (they are part of the place’s history).
You can remove your profile photo anytime.

Explore as a guest (anonymous) or save the account with Apple / Google.
Decline location — you can still browse the map and post chats at a pin you pick.
Change your display name or photo.
Block people from a chat or in Settings; delete your account.
